What Are We Eating?

Check out some of the nourishing eats we’ve enjoyed together at Root-Ed.

Why do we include children in food preparation?

Countless reasons, but here are a few…

– To let them know that they are an important part of their communities (here, there and at home).

– So they can dabble in and eventually master key skills that will allow them to be able to contribute at a higher level as they are ready.

– So they can take pride and enjoyment in the foundations of well-being: relationships & nourishments.

– To support confidence and autonomy around the needs and capabilities of their own bodies.

– Preparing food outdoors heightens our connection to the real world (the one that’s all around and inside of us) as we begin to notice that we are all a single unit, sharing this Earth’s offerings.

"Food, in the end, in our own tradition, is something holy. It's not about nutrients and calories. It's about sharing. It's about honesty. It's about identity." – Louise Fresco
